Second Training Event – 14 to 18 September, 2026 – Vendôme and Le Mans, France

We are pleased to announce that the second training event of the project will take place from 14 to 18 September 2026 in Vendôme and Le Mans, France. Organised by CNRS and Bel, this event will bring together the doctoral candidates and consortium members for another exciting week of learning, collaboration, and networking.

A highlight of this training event will be the Innovation Challenge, held in Vendôme, where doctoral candidates will work in multidisciplinary teams to address real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions. This unique activity will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills while fostering closer interactions between the academic and industrial partners of the consortium.

The week will continue with activities in Le Mans, offering further opportunities for scientific exchange, professional development, and networking. Building on the success of the first training event, this second gathering will further reinforce the collaborative spirit of the network and support the doctoral candidates in developing both their research and transferable skills.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to France for what promises to be another inspiring and rewarding training event.

First Training Event – 9 to 13 February, 2026 – Valencia, Spain

We are pleased to announce that the first training event of the project will take place in Valencia, Spain. This event represents the first in-person training-focused gathering of the project. We are especially excited as this will be the first face-to-face meeting for the doctoral candidates among themselves, and their first in-person opportunity to interact with the wider consortium members. The event will play a key role in fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a strong sense of community within the project. Valencia will be the perfect setting to begin this important training phase, and we very much look forward to welcoming everyone there.

What a great start!

The first Training Event of the project took place in Valencia from 9 to 13 February 2026 at IATA-CSIC. It was a special milestone for the network, as it was the first time the doctoral candidates met in person and the whole consortium gathered together.

During the first three days, Doctoral Candidates attended inspiring lectures covering colloidal science, statistics, polymer science, nutrition, machine learning, open science, ethics, and sensory science. These sessions built a common scientific ground while fostering lively interdisciplinary discussions between candidates and lecturers.

The fourth day was dedicated to a poster session, where doctoral candidates presented and discussed their individual research projects with the consortium. They also met with their Scientific Advisory Committees to develop a Personal Career Development Plan tailored to their ambitions and research paths.

Before the closing dinner, the group enjoyed a city tour of Valencia, creating a relaxed setting that encouraged interactions, strengthened connections, and helped build new relationships across the network.

The event concluded with a convivial dinner featuring Spanish cuisine, providing the perfect ending to a productive and memorable week and reinforcing the sense of community within the project.

We are already looking forward to the next Training Event.
