Training Programme

Description

ESM unique training programme holds a great promise for the advancement of the DCs careers as well as for scientifically, technologically and socially relevant outputs.

ESM aims at training a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative researchers, by providing them with (i) theoretical and practical training in state-of-the-art concepts and leading-edge techniques in Food and Soft Matter sciences and related scientific disciplines; (ii) strong complementary skills; (iii) an experience in the non-academic sector and solid professional connections.

The ESM Training Programme comprises:

Personalised training programme

Individual Research Project (IRP) including secondments in the academic and non-academic sectors and scientific and complementary skills developed thanks to the enrolment of each Doctoral Candidate (DC) in a PhD programme.

Network-wide training events

They include five network-wide sessions, offering both basic and advanced instruction in transferable skills as well as in Food and Soft Matter sciences. They also feature an innovation challenge and dedicated online courses.

DCs will receive targeted training in communication, management, and networking skills during these events. Additionally, at the General Assembly meetings, DCs will showcase the progress of their IRPs through oral presentations, poster sessions, and 3-minute pitches. These opportunities will enable them to apply their newly acquired skills and actively contribute to the project’s communication and dissemination activities.
